Post 10 (12-12): English Language Challenges

LAST BLOG SESSION:English Language  Challenges   > What comments can you make about your experience learning English at university?     What about the use of blogs? > What aspects of your English need to be improved and how do you plan to do this? > Outside the English class, how much are you using English these days? What for?   - Wordcount: 260 - Make comments on 3 of your partners' posts and also on your teachers'. ____________________________________________________________ L earning languages seriously and taking responsibility for the process is always something intense and at times, it can get to be a little discouraging or even, one may feel one's not making big progress. All those are fears, I believe, because just by having the great conviction that one's going to learn and working on it eagerly, will prove that with a little bit of patience a human person can learn anything she or he wants to. The essential foundational...

Post 9 (05-12) Changing the Study Programme

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME Write about some changes that could be made to your study programme (career) Among others, think about: > The curriculum (the subjects you have to study) > Workload and length of studies > Faculty facilities (buildings and infrastructure) > Use of technology > Teaching methods - Word Count: 250 - Leave comments on 3 of your classmates’ posts and on your teacher's as well. __________________________________________________________________________ There are many things I would have changed from my study programme back when I was studying English Linguistics, and even though I think all the things I studied have been of great use all these years, I believe there are even more issues and topics I would have liked to revise. First thing, I had several History courses, all of them were related to (obviously) Anglo-Saxon History and only one about national reality, I would have liked to study more from the connection...

Post 7 (21-11) : Current Issues.

Hi guys: Today we have decided to write a composition related to any particular current issue that may be of our interest. So in 230 words write about any issue/piece of news from nowadays life. Mention: - Why you have chosen this issue. - Why you believe this is important. - How can a solution be implemented. - Who the participants are. Write comments on your teacher's blog and on 3 of your classmates' blogs. _________________________________________________________________________________ EXAMPLE: EZRA MILLER: In general I tend to be rather critical, sour and even nihilistic (or at least I have thought so at times). So to select a particular Current Issue has been rather hard, since thinking out of the box doesn't ever come as easy as pie. From all the many current situations that are of my interest at the moment, I decided to pick up on one that is not entirely depressing and which may not straightforwardly provoke indignation so I decided to comment ...

In other matters, I wanted to...

Post 4 (31-10): Experiences

Tough as Nails: Experiences at University "Tough as nails", that was my idea about Uni back when I was a 17 year old  freshman, starting a degree in civil construction. I had heard my father, many times, telling memories from his college years and the most common thought was that he has to study hard as hell. He even claimed one class could be as intense as one month of regular high school lessons. Imagine that! So there I was, facing the unknown, suffering a bit from the pledges but still up to the challenge. My first class was Calculus I -engineers' stuff. And ... Voila!  Only  the first class and the Professor had already made a full revision of what we were supposed to have learnt at school. Of course I freaked out! I had to double study. It was really hard at first but after some time I made very good friends and study groups. I started to remember and make up for the things I did not know. At the end of the first year, I was an aver...

Explain. - Upload pictures - Make comments on 3 of your classmates’ posts + a comment on your           teacher's post - Word Count: 160 words RUSSIA! Although money can be an issue, and going to distant places can be a broken dream before you start dreaming, I would anyway love to visit Russia. Because of many reasons, but mostly, because it is such a varied and colorful contry. Russia has an incredible population,  they are 142.5 million people according to the statistics given by the UN in 2007. The number might seem scary, but don't worry! Density is low because of the country’s enormous size, in fact,  its geography is composed of more than 17 million square kilometres! This huge land is the home of one of the most multi-et...
