Muntean/Rosenblum

Muntean/Rosenblum, untitled [“They realized that their capacity…”]

"They realized that their capacity for not feeling lonely carried a very real price, which was the threat of feeling nothing at all." (from the work to the right)

I have enjoyed arts since I was a kid and in different times my tastes have changed from admiring music to admire performance artists, sculptores, painters, poets, etc etc etc. However, I will let you know of the ones I like the most nowadays.

As I just mentioned painting has been one of the Art areas I have admired the most, even more, I wanted to become a painter myself when I was younger and more handsome (LOL), and so, I will show you my favourite Artists who are a couple of painters, one of them is from Israel and the other is from Austria and they have been working together since 1992. They have made most of their career in London and have made incursions in painting, drawing, photography and also photoperformance, believe it or not, also in poetry...

I got to know these painters back in the 2007 on a tour around art galleries and I just fell in love with their painting aesthetics. In most of their work you can recognize some classical benchmarks and references but mixed with very contemporary characters and scenes wich makes one deeply relate to their work, another characteristic is that in their paintings, they propose the idea of being standing at a comic with pop culture images and also they use letters in the forms of poems that contradict and make one think deep of the triviality of post-industrial pop culture and the deep references to an old nostalgic and romantic coyness.

Here I give you some examples of the art pieces I like the most:

  1. I have never seen the paintings of these two artists, but I really like their works and I am surprised they put text under the drawing.

  2. They kind of look like religious paintings. That's so interesting. In the one in the middle it looks like Jesus on the cross.

  3. I have never heard of these artists, but their work seems very interesting, they mix a little pop culture with history.

  4. I'm quite surprised that they do such an amazing job and yet they may be quite different (I mean, they are from different countries and have different cultures)

  5. Wow, I didn't know this couple of painters. Two-hand works must be very difficult. I really like both paintings that you put in!

  6. I never heard of them before this, but I really liked their work and I think they're even more special because they're are different.

  7. It's just my opinion, but I found the artist very boring and uninsteresting, maybe the idea to take images and use them in a contemporary scene may be attractive but this seems more like a pastiche, like "lets recreate Jesus Christ on the cross but with a 21th century man, also lets put some skater dudes around, that looks cool right?"
    Not for me lol

All those are fears, I believe, because just by having the great conviction that one's going to learn and working on it eagerly, will prove that with a little bit of patience a human person can learn anything she or he wants to. The essential foundational...

Post 9 (05-12) Changing the Study Programme

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME Write about some changes that could be made to your study programme (career) Among others, think about: > The curriculum (the subjects you have to study) > Workload and length of studies > Faculty facilities (buildings and infrastructure) > Use of technology > Teaching methods - Word Count: 250 - Leave comments on 3 of your classmates’ posts and on your teacher's as well. __________________________________________________________________________ There are many things I would have changed from my study programme back when I was studying English Linguistics, and even though I think all the things I studied have been of great use all these years, I believe there are even more issues and topics I would have liked to revise. First thing, I had several History courses, all of them were related to (obviously) Anglo-Saxon History and only one about national reality, I would have liked to study more from the connection...
